Funeral services for Mrs. Ruth Boulware, 99, of Notasulga, Alabama, will be Friday, October 26, 2018, at 11:00 AM at Salem Macon Baptist Church, Notasulga, AL, with Rev. Greg Pate officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 10:00 AM at the church.
Mrs. Boulware passed away on Tuesday, October 23, 2018, at her residence. She was born on March 25, 1919, in Tallapoosa County to Thomas J. Hill and Corena Hatchett. She was a member of Salem Macon Baptist Church from the age of 5 until her death. She worked at the Mt. Vernon Mills for 32 years and later at a sewing factory. She loved times with her family and friends, sewing, baking and her flower garden. She was active in her church, teaching Sunday School class until she was 94. Until the last few months she was still going every Sunday weather permitting. When asked what she was most proud of in her life, she said her children.
She is survived by her son Neal Webster (Dorothy); daughter Charlotte Brown (Jack); brother Thomas J. Hill, Jr (MaryAnn); grandsons Tracy Abrams, Alec J. Brown, Chad Abrams; granddaughters Richelle Rice and Terri Blackmon; great grandsons Rylen Crews (Jamie), John Will Rice and Jonah Rice, Brad Blackmon; great granddaughter Laurie Blackmon; great, great grandsons Cohen and Asher; great, great granddaughter Laken; step-son Wilton (Nellie); two step-daughters Sandra Smith (Wayne) and Wanda Meadors; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husbands Emmett O. Webster and Lonnie Boulware; father Thomas J. Hill (Corena); daughters Barbara K. Abrams and Carolyn (Bill) Myers; stepson Robert E. Boulware; grandsons James S. Blackmon (Deb) and Russell Webster; her great grandson Brian Blackmon; and her sisters Jean Miller and Julia Hill.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Salem Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
