Richard Ellis Johnston, 77, of Tallassee, died Wednesday, June 14, 2023, at Jackson Hospital. A Celebration of Life will be held on June 24, 2023, at 11:00 am at the home of Miranda McGinty, 2817 Kent Rd., Tallassee, AL. Mr. Johnston is survived by his children Chris Holley, Miranda (James) McGinty, and Renee (Jamie) Harper; his grandchildren Christa Holley, Christina Huggins, Rebbekka Moore, Hunter Roberson, Jena Thompson, Sheena Harvey, Dillian Daniels, Kristopher McGinty, Kasey McGinty, Kevin McGinty, Kathryn Capps, Shane McGinty, Hanna McGinty, Ryan Harper, Devhon Harper, Jade Harper, and Jannah Royal; 25 great grandchildren; his brothers Randy (Tanya) Johnston, Paul (Ginny) Royal, and Phillip Royal; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother Mary Levis Johnston, his father Howard Johnston, his step mother Jean Johnston, his daughter Janet Johnston, his brother Braxton Johnston, his sister and brother-in-law Katie and Byron Holley. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to help with funeral expenses.
