Obituary

Richard Cleaborne Fischer, Jr., 74, of New Bern, North Carolina, passed away on Saturday, June 3, 2023. Richard was born on December 6, 1948, in Panama City, Florida to the late MSGT Richard C. Fischer, Sr. and Nadine Sheppard Fischer.

Richard was an American Patriot his greatest love was serving his country and his community. He proudly served 20 years in the United States Marine Corps. After retiring from the USMC as a Gunnery Sergeant he served Craven County as a Deputy Sheriff, and was a lifetime member of the Township 6 Fire Department.

Left to cherish his memory are his sister Edna Cope and his best friend Terri Morgan.

Richard will be laid to rest with his parents at Bradford's Chapel in Shorter, Alabama, on Saturday, July 1, 2023, at 11:00 am.
