Phillip Dewayne DuBose

February 1, 1952 ~ August 12, 2023 (age 71) 71 Years Old

Obituary

Phillip Dewayne DuBose, 71, of Deatsville, AL, entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, August 12, 2023. Wayne, to all who knew him, was born in Vernon, TX, on February 1, 1952. He joined the Navy at 17 years old and was very proud that he got to serve his country. After he was discharged from the Navy, he met his future wife Sandy with whom he recently celebrated 50 years of marriage. They had three wonderful children who blessed them with three precious grandchildren. Wayne was a student of the word of God his entire life. His knowledge of the Greek and Hebrew language allowed him a deeper understanding of the Bible which he passed on to his children and grandchildren. He spent many days holding his young children and later his grandchildren on his lap, sitting in his favorite chair, explaining the Bible to them. He was an RN who blessed so many lives with his continued kindness and care. His passing has left an unimaginable void in the lives of his family but they find peace in the knowledge that he is with Jesus Christ, and they will see him again in heaven.

Wayne is survived by his wife Sandra “Sandy” DuBose; his son Joshua DuBose; his daughter Michelle McArthur and her husband Don and son Cole; his son Jonathan DuBose and his wife Gaye and daughters Rose and Mabel; his special sister-in-law Kate Morton and her husband Dana and son Charles; his sister Tammy Robinson and her husband James; his nephew Gary Hamlin and his wife Nichole and daughter Madison; his niece Monica Foushi and her husband Patrick and children Ashley, Erin, Maggie, and Tyler; and his nephew Ronnie Hamlin and his wife Carolyn and children Ivey and Dustin. Wayne was preceded in death by his mother Peggy Tharp and brother Jimmy Tharp.

Wayne’s memorial service, followed by a meal and fellowship, will be held on August 21, 2023, at 3:30 PM at Fountain City Baptist Church, 492 East Main St., Prattville, AL 36067.
