Myra Claudette Ward

Myra Claudette Turner Ward, 88, of the Union Community, died Tuesday, September 5, 2023, at East Alabama Medical Center. Funeral services will be Thursday, September 7, 2023, at 12:00 noon at Union Church at Lake Martin with Rev. Ross Kilpatrick and Rev. Dan Rhodes officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be at 11:00 A.M. at the church prior to the funeral. Mrs. Ward was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years Billy B. Ward and her parents Claude and Kenneth Turner. She is survived by her children Randall H. Ward and Leslie W. (David) Morgan; her grandchildren David Ward (Lindsey) Morgan, Matt (Lauren) Ward, and Rachel (Michael) Lucas; her great grandchildren Britton Hicks, Barrett Hicks, David Reed Morgan, and Arianna Lucas; and her siblings Barbara Turner (Earl) Robins, Jimmy (Maryann) Turner, and Don Turner. 
 

During her 65 years of marriage, she went everywhere with her husband Billy during his military career. After his retirement, they came home to a place they loved at Union. She was a member of Union Church since childhood, and loved her church. She loved gardening and flowers. She also loved her extended family dearly, the people of the Union Community, but she loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren most of all.
