Mildred Pattillo, 78, of Auburn, passed away on September 13, 2024. Mildred was a long-time resident of Notasulga until her husband’s passing in 2006, then became a very active resident of The EASE House in Auburn.
Mildred was born in Camilla, Georgia, to Benjamin and Verna Mae Washington as the first of six children. She grew up working hard on their farm and was raised with a wonderful work ethic. Mildred never met a stranger. She began working at a very young age and she fought with the same ethic until her passing. Beginning with working the sewing factories of South Georgia, to countless years as a waitress, she retired working with East Alabama Paving.
Mildred enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and just recently a great great grandson. The family always looked forward to her homemade biscuits and gravy.
Mildred is survived by three sons Arnold Jr. (Linda) Pattillo of Notasulga, Jimmy (Angela) Pattillo of Opelika, Billy Jack (Jenny) Pattillo of Tuskegee; one daughter Jo Ann (Tom) Stack of Belleville, IL; her grandchildren Micheal (Laura) Pattillo, April Pattillo, Amanda (Shane) Sanspree, Tiffany Pattillo, Amber (Cordero) Tolbert, Victoria (Jacob) Koen, Jamie (Thomas) Albright, Melissa (Korey) Winslow; her great grandchildren Austin, Alexis, Thomas, Natalee, Savannah, Kyzer, Landyn, Caroline, Baylee, Dylan, Lucas, Mia and Kaylee; her great great grandson Jay; her sister Helen (Don) Blackwell of Baconton, GA,l; her brother Bill (Pam) Washington, Baconton, GA; as well as many loving nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Marvin Pattillo, grandson BJ Pattillo, Jr., sister Carolyn Perry, and brothers Buddy Washington and Leroy Washington.
Pallbearers are Arnold Pattillo, Billy Pattillo, Micheal Pattillo, Thomas Stack, Austin Pattillo, and Thomas Pattillo.
Visitation will be at Armstrong Methodist Church, Notasulga, on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, from 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm and 1:00 pm on Wednesday, September 18, at the church. A graveside service will follow 2:00 p.m. at the Armstrong Methodist Cemetery.
