Michael Huddleston, Sr., known by friends and family as "Mike" and by his beloved nieces as "Uncle Boo," passed away peacefully on September 22, 2024, at the age of 71. He was a lifelong resident of Tuskegee, AL.

He leaves behind his loving and faithful wife of 51 years Janelle; son Michael; brother Charlie Allen “Al” Huddleston, III; nieces Tara, Stephanie and Summer; great nieces Reagan and Phoenix; special cousin Terry Parsons (David) and other extended family members; and many friends who became family.
He is preceded in death by his father Charlie Allen Huddleston, Jr., his mother Betty Jean Machen Huddleston, and his sister Susan Huddleston.
After a brief stint in the Navy, Mike came home to serve his community, and he did so with a true servant's heart. Mike was a man of many talents. He farmed with his father, owned his own body shop, worked for State Farm as an appraiser and worked with Bill and Sons/Thrower’s Wrecker Service until he retired in 2013. His passion was driving the wrecker and helping folks in their time of need. Mike was known for looking good in his 'heavy' starched shirts as he towed a vehicle to its location. Legend has it that he even helped out a few famous folks when their vehicle broke down on the interstate.
Mike would light up the room with his smile and always had a joke to tell or a prank to pull on you. Mike loved Alabama Football, fishing on the coast, fiddling in his shop, yard work, classic cars and camping. Many stories can be told about Mike’s adventures with family and friends as he enjoyed living life. We will always smile and laugh when we recall the story of him and Janelle camping with friends when a cat climbed a tree near their camper and Mike went to rescue it by climbing the tree. He rescued the cat but got scratched in the process.
As we mourn our loss, we know that heaven is rejoicing with Mike there. We wonder if Mike told St. Peter his name when asked or if he used his standby saying when folks asked his name. Mike always answered, "Bond, as in James Bond."
A special thank you is extended to Lagrange Heath Care of Lagrange, GA, and Capitol Hill Heath Care of Montgomery, AL, for their wonderful compassion and care that they showed Mike during his illness.
