Melody Rose Jackson Obituary

Melody Rose Jackson, of Reeltown, Alabama, born April 2, 2007, received her miracle through divine healing after a courageous battle with cancer on February 5, 2024, at 8:00 p.m. She was surrounded by family, friends and her furbabies.

Funeral services will be Friday, February 9, 2024, at Carrville Baptist Church at 1:00 pm with Zack Brown and Pastor Randy Jones officiating. Visitation will be at the church prior to the service beginning at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Elam Cemetery.

Melody will be deeply missed by her mother Voni Jackson; father John (Diannah) Jackson; brothers John Jr. (Emmalee) Jackson and Tyler Jackson; granddaddy Robert Harris; grandfather Jerry (Elizabeth) Jackson; grandmother Susan Cooper; aunts and uncles, Kari (Kenny) Jones, Robert (Loredana) Harris, Jerry (April) Harris, Jennifer (Jason) Spain, and Jeannine (Gilbert) Santiesteban; numerous great aunts and uncles, cousins, and a community that loves her; her beloved furbabies Lola and Pinky, though small and fluffy they won't miss her any less.
Melody was greeted at her heavenly home not only by our Lord and Savior, but also by her sister Alyssa Jackson and her grandmother Cheryl Harris.
Throughout Melody’s journey, she met and loved, and was loved, by many special people. Although the list is as long as it is cherished, Melody’s home nurses Lena Purvis and Ashley Truesdale gave of themselves selflessly and are a true blessing sent straight from heaven.
Melody attended Reeltown High School where she loved playing her alto saxophone in the marching band. She also enjoyed Wednesday night dinner and youth group at Carrville Baptist Church with her aunt Barbara.
Melody had a terrific personality that shined when she met someone new or talked with a group of familiar friends. Her heart was pure in that she always thought of the needs and desires of others before she would consider her own. Melody was wise beyond her years, as throughout her journey, she could often be found comforting those that were charged with comforting her.
Melody was a single soul sent to us by God. In her almost 17 years, she was able to touch the souls of so many that knew her, and so many that didn’t. Her experiences, her generosity and her story will be an inspiration to many, for years beyond measure.
Isaiah 40:31 “…but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”
In our hearts, there will always ring a Melody
