Laura Alice Winslett Obituary

Laura Alice Winslett, 73, of Notasulga, passed away in her home, Sunday, November 24. Alice was born April 16, 1951 in Wetumpka, Alabama. She was the daughter of Rupert and Jodie McGinty. She was married to the love of her life and her best friend Kenneth Earl Winslett for 54 years.
Alice loved to stay busy. She was active in her church and over the many years, she served as a Sunday School teacher, VBS director, Women's mission leader, Secretary, and many other roles.  She enjoyed sewing, doing alterations, and quilting and was an amazing seamstress. She loved spending time with family. She especially loved spending time and doing crafts with her grandchildren. She was loving and giving to those around her and even those she didn't even know. She enjoyed taking care of others. She loved the Lord and even with Alzheimer’s, enjoyed listening to Southern gospel music and she never stopped praying.
Alice is survived by her husband Kenneth Winslett; her children Laura (Aubrey) Humphries, Wanda (Ted) Dotson, and Wade (BJ) Winslett; her grandchildren Audrey Kern, Samantha Kern, Ian Kern, Sara Dotson, Kaitlyn Dotson, Chase Winslett, Olyvia Winslett, and Marley Humphries; her brothers Wayne (Debbie) McGinty, Mike (Donna) McGinty, Don (Cindy) McGinty, Buster (Angie) McGinty; and many cousins, nephews, and nieces.
Alice is preceaded in death by her parents Rupert and Jodie McGinty and brother Howard McGinty.
Visitation will be held at Corbitt’s Funeral Home in Tuskegee, Alabama, on Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2024, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm.
Funeral services will be held at Concord Baptist Church in Notasulga, Alabama, on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, at 10:00 am.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Gentiva Hospice or Alzheimer’s Association.
