Jimmie Carson Banks, 81, of Notasulga, died Thursday, December 22, 2022, at East Alabama Medical Center. Funeral services will be Monday, December 26, 2022, at Concord Baptist Church at 2:00 P.M. Visitation will be at the church beginning at 1:00 P.M. There will be a private burial.
Mr. Banks was born in Waverly on July 24, 1941. His family moved to Opelika when he was a baby, and he lived there most of his life. He graduated from Troy with a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science. He spent 12 years in the Air Force and traveled to numerous places where he always looked for ways to connect with people and church. He then worked for Diversified Products as a Computer Manager until his retirement. He served the Lord for many years as a music director since the age of 16. At present, he was a Sunday School teacher, music minister, and deacon at Concord Baptist Church in Notasulga where he lived the last 33 years with his wife Donna. He was preceded in death by his parents Clifford Armon and Dewey Hall Banks; his sister Mary Jo LaSuer; his brothers Clifford Banks, Jr., Theron Banks, Arnold L. Banks, Haywood Banks, and Bibb Graves Banks; and his daughter Tina Banks Braun. He is survived by his wife Donna Banks; his step children Cissy (Bob) Edwards, DeeDee (Wayne) Hobbs, and Billy Tillery; 7 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and his sister Betty Kittrell.
