Janice Dawson Tyson

Janice Dawson Tyson, born on August 15, 1958, went to her eternal home on July 12, 2025, at 11:55 pm surrounded and comforted by family and friends. 

The family finds peace in knowing that she has been reunited with her soulmate of almost 50 years. She will be remembered as a feisty, strong woman who was a devoted mother, wife, and friend to many.  

She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Carroll Tyson, her father Bobby Dawson, her mother Ruby Dawson, her brothers Andy Dawson and Randell Dawson, and her sister Judy Dawson. 

She will be remembered by her son Robert Carroll Tyson, Jr. and her daughter April Tyson Zellner (Ben); grandchildren Robert Carroll Tyson, III, Bennett Zellner, and Olivia Zellner; sisters-in-law Kristy Dawson and Sherrie Dawson; dear friend Brenda Vann; her nieces Amanda Broach and Stacy Dean; and her nephews Gus Dawson, Steven Fields and Jody Fields.

Funeral services will be Thursday, July 17, 2025, at 10:00 am in the Little Texas Tabernacle. Burial will follow in Little Texas Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bernard Zellner, Patrick Tyson, John Tyson, John Richardson, Joe Harris, and Derek Tyson.
