James Wendel Carlisle of Reeltown and Dadeville passed away on October 22, 2024, at the age of 78. He was born September 22, 1946, to his parent Owen and Emogene (Peek) Carlisle.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Windell Carlisle, his son-in-law Chris Fomby, his brother Owen G. Carlisle, Jr., and his sisters Iris (Art) Ballard and Doris (James) Segrest.
He is survived by his daughter Wendy Fomby; his grandsons Josh Fomby, Cody Carlisle, and Brandon (Loren) Fomby; his granddaughters Audrey (Jordan) Moran, Sarah (Zach) Foley; his great granddaughters Sadie and Kylee Moran, Mary Hanlyn “Billy Goat” Fomby, and Mavie and Maggie Fomby; his great grandson Waylon Wayne Foley will be here in December; his brother Cordell (Becky) Carlisle; several nieces and nephews; and a fur baby he loved dearly Sista.
The family would like to thank his closest friends for always being there for him. For many years, Mr. Carlisle was well-known for being an expert in dirt work around Lake Martin and Reeltown and loved to point out all the properties that he developed to his family as they rode by. A private service will be announced at a later date.
