James Steven Cooper, 76, of Shorter, died Saturday, December 26, 2020. Graveside services will be Saturday, January 9, 2021, at Pleasant Springs Baptist Cemetery at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Ronald Sumner officiating. He was a graduate of Tuskegee High School, and was in the National Guard for 8 years. He was a Deacon of Pleasant Springs Baptist Church for over 30 years. Steve was a beloved husband to his wife Susan, and he was selfless, loving, and funny. He was also a wonderful stepfather to his two children who he loved and treated as his own, and the best Grandfather in this world. He loved his simple country life and he never met a stranger. He grew up in a small town and knew everyone and everyone knew him. He was a Godly man, who was happy and not afraid to die but cherished his life. He will be missed. A big man with a kind and gentle heart. We will love you always and forever.
