Emily Ann Sams Keown

Emily Ann (Sams) Keown, 44, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 27th, 2024. She was born in Vicenza, Italy, on April 27th, 1980, to Doug and Cindy Sams.  She was a 1998 graduate of Auburn High School. She married Brian Keown on July 16th, 2006, at Lake Martin, AL.  They welcomed their son Mason on Sept. 3rd, 2011.

Emily loved so many things. She loved family, friends, music, and animals. She was so talented.  She could play the piano, flute, clarinet, and could sing so beautifully. She also loved Alabama football.   The biggest joy of her life was her son Mason. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Emily is survived by her husband Brian; son Mason; her parents Cindy and Doug Sams; her sisters Sarah Wentz (Robby), and Katie Williams (Jake); her brother Matt (Julie); her niece Georgia; and nephews Jake and Weston.

Funeral services will be held on May 31st at Union Church at Lake Martin with visitation starting at 10:00 am.  Her celebration of life will be at 11:00 am.  Pastor Ross Kilpatrick will officiate, and burial will follow in the church cemetery.
