Earnest Alfred Golden, 78, of Notasulga, died Monday, February 1, 2021, at EAMC. Graveside services will be Thursday, February 4, 2021, at 11:00 A.M. at Salem Macon Baptist Cemetery with Rev. Tom Skeen officiating. Mr. Golden is survived by his wife of 55 years Beverly Whitfield Golden; his daughters Leigh (Greg) Clemmons and Laura (Michael) Nelson; grandchildren Will Clemmons, Mitchell Clemmons, Miller Clemmons, Anna Clemmons, Austin Grant, and Haley Nelson; his brother Billy Scruggs; and his cousin Eddie Wright. He was preceded in death by his parents C.W. and Edrie Golden, and his brother Ed Scruggs. Mr. Golden is a former president of Macon County Cattlemen's Association, and a member of the honorary board of the Alabama State Cattlemen's Association. Mr. Golden served in the Alabama National Guard for 30 years where he retired as a Lieutenant Colonel. He is also a former chairman of the administrative board of Notasulga United Methodist Church. He was a very humble and kind man. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Notasulga United Methodist Church.
