Cora Jane Gibson Gregory, of Greenville, passed away on November 27, 2024.
Cora Jane was born in Greenville, Alabama, to Raymond and Eunice Gibson as the fourth of seven children. During her life, she blessed many around her through her teaching. She taught at Fort Dale Academy and Greenville Academy for over thirty years to several generations, including her sons, grandsons, nieces and nephews, and many other children along the way. She played the piano for Spring Hill Methodist for thirty to forty years. More than anything, she spent most of her time being a wonderful grandmother. She never missed a football game, highschool play, or graduation, and she was ever present in the lives of her family. She was constantly cooking old family recipes, and the family always looked forward to her southern dressing at the holidays.
Cora Jane is survived by sisters Faye (Gene) Hale of Chicago, IL, Cheryl (Larry) Smith of Douglasville, GA; sister in law Donna Gibson of Scottsdale, AZ; sons Mark (Kelly) Gregory of Huntsville, Andy Gregory of Auburn; her grandchildren Leslie Gregory, Blake Gregory, Josie Gregory, Hannah Gregory, Hunter Gregory, Dalton (Julia) Gregory, Michael (Haley) Gregory, Mandy Gregory, Marcy Gregory; her great grandchildren Riley, and Gibson Gregory; as well as many loving cousins, nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Charles Gregory, sisters Marianne Callen, Eula Milner, and brothers Raymond Harold "Sonny" Gibson, and Richard Gerald "Jerry" Gibson.
In lieu of flowers, donate to Spring Hill Methodist Cemetery fund.
The graveside service was held Sunday December 1, 2024 at Spring Hill Methodist Church.
