Carolyn Jackson Ward

Carolyn Savannah Jackson Ward, age 89, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 27, 2019, at Jackson Hospital in Montgomery, AL. She was born April 21, 1930, to Thomas J. Jackson and Eliza Savannah Jackson of Tuskegee, AL. She was a 1948 graduate of Tuskegee High School and extended her studies to the Alabama Polytechnic Institute, where she met her future husband.  She lived and traveled the world as a military spouse for many years and upon retirement was a civil service employee at Gunter Air Force Base.  In retirement, Carolyn lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures; chatting with friends and family, antique shopping, gardening and reminiscing with stories about her beloved mother “Ms Liza.” Carolyn loved the Lord and was a member of Frazer United Methodist Church for many years. She is preceded in death by her parents, daughter Carolyn J. Ward and brother Thomas J. "Tommy" Jackson, Jr.  She is survived by her sister-in-law Geraldine Jackson, two nieces Linda Jackson Stinson (James) and Brenda Jackson Vann (John), and several great nieces, great nephews, and cousins.  The family would like to thank Hillview Terrace Nursing Home in Montgomery for the dedication and excellent caregiving provided to Carolyn.   At a future date, there will be a Memorial Service for family, close friends, and others whose lives Carolyn touched.   In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your favorite charity.
