Carol Ann May

Carol Ann May, 74, most recently of Millbrook, Alabama, died July 24, 2024, at UAB Women and Infants Center in Birmingham.
Carol was born June 4, 1950, to James and Carmella May, in Chicago, Illinois. From there the family moved to Michigan, then to Virginia. In late 1958, they moved to Notasulga, Alabama, where her dad and grandpa had been born and raised, and that was “home” for the remainder of her childhood and youth.

After graduation from Auburn University, the whole world became her home. She traveled extensively and lived in many different states and cities, establishing lifelong friendships all along the way. She was a very generous and loving person. She loved going to the movies and theatre, and playing Scrabble and cards with family and
friends.

Carol was predeceased by her parents and her younger brother, James Edward. She is survived by her brothers Samuel (Kim), Robert (Marshia), and Joseph (Deanna), as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and a host of lifelong friends scattered all over the world.
A Memorial Celebration of what she herself called her “sweet, extraordinary life” will be held Saturday, August 17, 2024, 11:00 a.m., at First Assembly of God Notasulga, located at 10021 Tuskegee St, Notasulga, AL 36866 (right beside Dollar General). She requested that it be short and sweet, and filled with music and food – a celebration! And that’s what it will be. Everyone is welcome.
