Carl Bennett Bryant, 82, went to his heavenly home on Sunday, July 17, 2022. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was born on September 7, 1939, to Odis Carl and Eunice Bryant in Jackson, Mississippi.
Carl’s first love was his love for God, and he sought to serve and honor Him in many ways. He graduated from Trinity Bible College in Dunedin, Florida in 1979. He served as Minister of Education, music minister, deacon, and Sunday school teacher for many years. He was a founding member of Purpose Baptist Church which he currently was attending.
Carl is survived by his wife of 61 years Maxine Bryant; his son Keith (Rae) Bryant, daughter Terri (David) Howard; four grandchildren, Candace (Greg) Konietzky, Lauren (Derek) Murphy, Amber (Garrett) Scott, and Mollie Chapman; eight great grandchildren, Konner and Caleb Hartzog, Addison and Rylee Chapman, Harper and Beckett Scott, Asher and Elena Murphy; one sister, Janice (Steve) Taylor; four nieces and one nephew.
He was preceded in death by his father Odis Carl Bryant, his mother Eunice Bryant, and his sister Harriet Cosby.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, July 21, 2022, at 10:00 A.M. with funeral services starting at 11:00 A.M. at Salem Macon Baptist Church, 4647 Tallapoosa St., Notasulga, AL 36866, with Rev. Steve Taylor officiating. In lieu of flowers, friends and family may make a memorial donation to Purpose Baptist Church in Opelika, AL.
