Arthur Hetu, Nov. 20, 1933 - Sept. 6, 2021, 87, of Tallassee, AL, passed after a short illness. He is survived by two daughters Dorothy Barber of Highland Home and Patricia Kelley of Tallassee; and 9 Granddaughters Diane Kirby of Boaz, Carey Bennett (Scott) of Pensacola, FL, Melissa May (Dennis) of Reeltown, AL, Teresa Meredith of Prattville, Sharon Fulmer of Newton, AL, Kristen Bailey of Elmore County, Jessica Bailey of Elba, AL, Melanie Barber of Montgomery, and April Barber of Highland Home. He was also blessed with many great and great great grandchildren.
He was preceeded in death by his loving wife of 66 years Agnes Lucille Hetu, a daughter Mary Ann Hetu and a son Arthur Albert Hetu, Jr.
Born in Preston, Ontario, Canada, the family moved to the United States in approximately 1942. He served in the United States Air Force from 1952 to 1956. He was proud to be a Korean veteran and loved telling stories about his time served.
He loved being a mechanic and body shop man. He could repair and or rebuild most any vehicle. He loved building motor homes out of old potato chip type vans. He was very gifted. He loved watching old western movies and most important spending time with his family.
Graveside services will be Saturday, September 11, 2021, at Chestnut Creek Cemetery in Cooper, AL, at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Don Stephens officiating.
