Willodean Ledbetter Flurry, 89, died April 27, 2019, at Russell Medical Center in Alexander City, AL, surrounded by her loved ones. Dean was born February 8, 1930, in Reeltown, AL, to Oscar and Hazel Ledbetter.
Dean was a passionate Auburn fan and went many years without missing a game, home or away. She also enjoyed sewing, especially making outfits for herself and her grandchildren. Most of all, Dean loved having a good time laughing and sharing stories with her friends and family. She was never one to turn down a road trip.
She is survived by her daughters Glenda (Kenny) Smith, Carolyn (Reggie) Hill, and Pam (Jeff) Robinson; her son Mike (Teresa) Flurry; her grandchildren Steve (Beverly) Grant, Gene (Missy) Grant, Matt (Christy) Flurry, Angie House, Kelvin (Jonyece) Ray, and Paige (Josh) Bierman; her great grandchildren Brandon, Ashley, Stephanie, Amber, Taylor, Austin, Blake, Brianna, Dillon, Zac, Anna Katherine, Luke, Heather, Justin, Lauren, Allie, Markelle, Jamichael, and John; her sister Jessie Lou (WC) Whatley; her brothers William (Mary Ellen) Ledbetter and Robby (Angela) Ledbetter; and numerous nieces, nephews, and others who were treated as family. She is preceded in death by her husband of 59 years Willie Joe Flurry; her parents Oscar and Hazel Ledbetter, her son Larry Flurry, and her grandsons Richard Ray, Brad Grant, and Joey Grant.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 1, 2019, at 2:00 P.M. at First Baptist Church of Reeltown with Rev. Wayne Cowhick and Rev. Tim Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, April 30, 2019, from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at First Baptist Church of Reeltown. Pallbearers will be Steve Grant, Blake Harper, Justin House, Charles Webster, Jeremy Ledbetter, and Matt Flurry.
