Rosa Leona (Whatley) Sheldon

Rosa Leona Sheldon, 80, of Little Texas, died Tuesday, May 7, 2013, at Arbor Springs.  Funeral services will be Friday, May 10, 2013, at Williams Chapel United Methodist Church at 2:00 P.M.  Rev. David Waldrop will officiate, and burial will follow at Little Texas Cemetery.  Visitation will be Thursday, May 9, 2013, from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at Corbitt’s Funeral Home in Tuskegee.  Mrs. Sheldon was preceded in death by her parents Rosa Bell Underwood and D.C. Whatley, her husband Carl Sheldon, her daughter Rosa Mae Hickman, her son John David Hickman and her sister Faye Estes.  She is survived by her daughters Gail (Robert) Spratlin, Susan Sheldon, Debbie Sheldon Miller and Darling Marshall (David Burke); her sons Dale (Sharron) Sheldon, Darrel (Lisa) Sheldon and Steven (Nannette) Sheldon; 18 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; and her brother David Whatley.  She grew up in the Little Texas Community and was a lifelong member of Williams Chapel United Methodist Church.  She graduated from Tuskegee High School in 1951.  She was a loving wife and mother and will always be remembered by her smile.
