Robert Matthews Boyd, Jr.

Robert Matthews Boyd, Jr., 91, of Montgomery, died Sunday, March 4, 2018.  Graveside services will be Friday, March 16, 2018, at 1:00 P.M. at Tuskegee Cemetery.   Mr. Boyd graduated in 1951 from Auburn University after serving as a Merchant Marine in World War II.  He worked for the Alabama Department of Agriculture until he retired at age 79.  He was preceded in death by his wife of 22 years Clarice M. Boyd, his parents Robert Matthews Boyd, Sr. and Clara Estelle Sullivan Boyd, and his sister Mary Leonard Preer.  He is survived by his daughters Martha Brewer and Marybeth Boyd, his grandson Matthew Boyd Brewer, his niece Ann Leonard Carr, his nephew Tom Preer, and a large extended family.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, www.woundedwarriorproject.com.
