Michael Wayne Capps (“Gator” or “Mike”) passed away peacefully at Bethany House in Auburn, AL on Wednesday,February 21, 2018 at the age of 56. He was surrounded by love and scripture as he gained his wings after a hard fought battle with stage IV esophageal cancer and multiple other terminal illnesses.
Mike was born on November 20, 1961 in Columbus, Indianaand put into the loving foster home of Donald “Don” Kastnerand Janet Kastner at the age of 7 where he remained his childhood years. He graduated from Lemon Bay High School in Englewood, FL in 1981. He was a loving father to three beautiful daughters and a very hard worker all his life. He loved to make people laugh and was a great friend to many. He was preceded in death by his father Don Kastner and his brother Tony Capps.
He is survived by his daughters Stephanie Parrish, BeverlyCapps, and Heather Capps; Granddaughters Olivia Langley and Hensley Capps; Mother Janet Kastner Olshewsky (Tom) of Sarasota, FL; Sister Carrie Hamby of Tallahassee, FL and multiple other sisters from biological parents; Brothers David Andrew “Andy” Kastner, Chuck Capps of California, and multiple other brothers from biological parents; Niece Casandra Liles; Nephew Sandy Beasley; and Great Niece Tanner Liles.
A celebration of life will be Saturday, February 24, 2018, from 4:00 to 6:00 P.M. at The Little Texas Tabernacle.
