Joyce Bruner Bufford

Joyce Bruner Bufford, known to family and friends as "Mama Joy," passed away on February 27, 2018, at the age of 85 years.  She was born on November 26, 1932 in Selma, Alabama, to Joseph Scott Bruner and Thelma Clancy Bruner.  She was preceded in death by her husband Franklin Keith Bufford, Sr. and her daughter Nannette Bufford. She is survived by daughter Joy B.  Noble (Harry) and son Franklin Keith Bufford, Jr. (Valerie). She had 9 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. She retired as general manager of the Auburn Plainsman in 1995. She was an Elder Emeritus at Union Christian Church where she served for more than 54 years.  Visitation will be February 28, 2018, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall of Union Christian Church.  The funeral service will be held on March 1, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. at Union Christian Church in Little Texas, Alabama.  Pallbearers will be John Hornsby, Buck Noble, Paul Beckman, Murray Hinson, Phillip Noble, Matthew Miller, Joshua Hornsby, Kevin Bufford, Dr. Randall Herring, and Dr. James Gauthier.
