John Ronald Yordy, Jr., passed away on Sunday, November 17, 2019, at the young age of 41.  John was born March 7, 1978, in Moultrie, GA, grew up in Albany, GA, and moved to Auburn after meeting the love of his life Dr. Morgan Andrews Yordy of Mobile, AL.  He and Morgan were blessed with 3 children, Trip (9), Grand (7), and Causey (4), who adored their daddy and will miss him greatly.  John and Morgan were married on January 9, 2010, at Auburn United Methodist Church, and their family has since become active members of the church with roles in Children’s Ministries and Sunday School.

John’s love for automobiles led him to join the team at Bridgestone America’s in 2005 on the TBR&R team, where he excelled in his career using his love of all things automotive and his love of building relationships.  John’s “never met a stranger attitude” allowed him to grow in the company. In 2017, he took on additional responsibilities as Regional Sales Manager for Firestone Agricultural Solutions division. In this role, John covered the Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, and Florida territory working with strategic dealers and holding field clinics for the end user. He was instrumental in helping develop programs and policies for the company.

John loved and enjoyed his work, but he was devoted to his family and friends.  John graduated high school from Byne Christian School in Albany, GA, and went on to receive a degree in Finance from Valdosta State University in 2000.  While at Valdosta, John was very active in his fraternity, Kappa Sigma, Xi-Theta Chapter.  While John used these platforms in life to build new relationships, he always made sure that he didn’t leave old friends behind in the process.  John was notorious for stopping by at dinner time just to catch up or have a laugh.  He also loved to put people together from his current place in life with someone that could help them from his past life, even playing matchmaker on many occasions.

John loved to build relationships and to share them with others.  He lived a life which made other people feel valued, and his presence in his friends’ and family’s lives will forever be missed.

Survivors include his wife Morgan; two sons Trip and Grand; a daughter Causey; father John R. Yordy Sr. (Tisha) of Leesburg, Georgia; sister Tammy Yordy Guarnieri (Chris); nephews Logan, Lawson, and Layten of Leesburg, Georgia.

He was preceded in death by his mother Valdra Yordy Klein; grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Herman S. Yordy; and Mr. and Mrs. William Curtis Causey.  

Visitation will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, November 22, 2019, at Auburn United Methodist Church followed by a memorial service at 12:00 P.M.
