George Henry Albright, 93, of Little Texas, died Sunday, May 13, 2018. He was born September 13, 1924, in Childress, Texas, to the late Clay Daniel and Mary Ruth McCurry Albright.
Mr. Albright was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years Pauline Mangum Albright. He is survived by his sons Michael (Linda) Albright, Donald (Donna) Albright, and Christopher (Liz) Albright; six grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
Mr. Albright was a career US Air Force pilot. His first assignment after completing flight school was in 1944 at Tuskegee Army Air Field as an instructor pilot. He retired in 1970 at McCoy Air Force Base in Orlando, Florida, as a Lieutenant Colonel.
During his career his travels took him to most of the 50 states including Alaska and Hawaii. He also went to Puerto Rico, the Azores, Morocco, Mexico, Spain, Newfoundland and Labrador Canada, Portugal, Germany, England, France, Okinawa, South Viet Nam, Thailand, the Philippines, and Australia.
A few of George's awards include a Bronze Star, an Air Medal, an Air Force Commendation medal, and he was recognized as a small arms marksman.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to one's favorite charity. As Mr. Albright wanted, his family will have a private service.
