Floy Cornett Prewitt Obituary

Floy Cornett Prewitt passed away on June 8, 2019, at Bethany House in Auburn.  She was born on November 30, 1917, in Porterdale, Georgia, daughter of the late David Edward Cornett and Maggie Vickery Cornett.  She graduated from Russell High School in East Point, Georgia.  She was preceded in death by her husband Aubrey R. Prewitt, her son Douglas Prewitt, her brother Raymond Cornett, and her grandson John B. Moon. She is survived by her daughter Dolores Moon of Notasulga, Alabama, and a great grandson Ryan Moon of Smyrna, Georgia.  A long-time resident of Cedartown, Georgia, she spent the last ten years living with her daughter in Notasulga, Alabama.  Floy traveled the world with her military husband from Europe to the Far East.  She was a loving wife and mother, the epitome of grace and charm.  She was equally at home with the wealthy and the homeless, giving wherever she saw a need.  She possessed a personality that drew others to her with warmth and humor.  Her presence lit up the world, and she is now a shining heavenly light.  She was a long time member of First Baptist Church of Cedartown.  Floy is to be buried alongside her husband in Arlington National Cemetery, Washington, D.C.
