Blanche L. Cox, a former resident of Tuskegee, was born on April 30, 1929, and passed away at her home in Notasulga on March 7, 2018. Funeral services will be Friday, March 9, 2018, at Pleasant Springs Baptist Church at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Don Johnson and Rev. Jamie Williams officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be at the church beginning at 1:00 P.M. prior to the service. Pallbearers will be Paul Cox, Brent Cox, Dustin Cox, Eugene Cox, Bennett Cox, and L.B. Cox.
Mrs. Cox is preceded in death by her husband George E. Cox, her parents Homer and Berta Lynn, her brother Billy Lynn, her sister Peggy Ann Lynn, her niece Beverly Ann Mayfield, and her nephew Timothy Lynn. She is survived by her children Edward L. (Teresa) Cox and Donna Cox (Bill) McCarty; her grandchildren Paul (Shawn) Cox, April (Dennis) Jones, and Brent Cox; her great grandchildren Cheyenne Cox, Dustin Cox, Emma Jones, and Jake Jones; her sister Willie Lou (Hayward) Mayfield; three nephews; and her special friend Helen Williams who was like Blanche's second daughter.
Blanche worked for the Macon County Engineers Department as a secretary and retired after 25 years of service. She was a devoted Christian, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, daughter and sister. She never met a stranger and loved a good joke. Her humor and laughter were infectious. Her compassion and kindness for others was genuinely heartfelt. Memories will live on in our hearts and her presence will be greatly missed by all that were blessed to have known her.
