Betty Hood Henderson Smyth

Mrs. Betty Hood Henderson Smyth, 85, went peacefully to be with the Lord on Monday, January 8, 2018, surrounded by her family.  A lifelong resident of Liberty City, Alabama, she touched the lives of many people during her 39 year teaching career.  She was preceded in death by Clarence Henderson and Thomas Smyth, parents Cecil and Hazel Hood, and siblings James Hood and Mildred Carmack.  She is survived by her sons Earl (Theresa) and Ed (Carrie); her grandchildren Tracey, Sumer (Freddie), Shanna, Chelsea, and Cade; great grandchildren Carter and Ansleigh.  Visitation will be Tuesday, January 9, 2018, from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at Liberty United Methodist Church in Liberty City.  Funeral services will be Wednesday, January 10, 2018, at Liberty United Methodist Church at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Tom Skeen and Rev. Jamey Williams officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Memorials may be made to the Liberty United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, 5067 Tallapoosa St., Notasulga, AL 36866.
