Betty Dean Cox

Betty Dean Cox, 68, of Shorter, died Friday, December 1, 2017, at her home.  Funeral services will be Monday, Dec. 4, 2017, at 2:00 P.M. at Victory Baptist Church with Rev. Pete Dobbs and Rev. Rick Dorley officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, Dec. 3, 2017, at Corbitt's Funeral Home from 3:00 to 5:00 P.M.  Mrs. Cox is survived by her loving husband Gene Cox; her son L.B. Cox; her daughter Crystal (Dave) West; her grandchildren Magan Cox (Darrell Cameron), Anna Gail West, and Sarah Jessica and James Thomas Ledbetter; her great grandchildren Aubrey, Joseph, Jacob, Robert, Marley, Kalia and Natalia; her sisters Opal Dean (Max Driggers), Mary (Gene) Singleton, and Becky (Charles) Ledbetter; her sister-in-law Dorothy (Pete) Dobbs; her brothers-in-law Bennett (Annie) Cox and Bobby Williams; and numerous nieces, nephews and close friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents Elva and Foots McWhorter and Othier Dean; her mother-in-law Annie Cox; her sisters Mildred Whatley and Frances Williams; her brother Othier B. Dean, Jr.; and her nephew James Helms.  Pallbearers will be Jeremy Mills, Nathan Mills, Chris Luck, Johnny Luck, Tony McCarty, and Billy Segrest.  Honorary pallbearers will be Wiley Dougherty, Lamar Ledbetter, Michael Segrest, Philip Ledbetter, and Carl Calloway.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Victory Baptist Church, c/o 2140 Co. Rd. 31, Notasulga, AL 36866.
