About Us

Corbitt’s Funeral Home was founded in Tuskegee in 1948 by L.L. (1905-1984) and Charlotte Corbitt (1906-1992). Their son Roy E. Corbitt joined them shortly thereafter in the business and has worked here ever since as a funeral director and embalmer. His wife Effie Jean Corbitt later joined him in the business as a licensed funeral director, and their son R.E. “Ed” Corbitt, Jr. also became a funeral director. In recent years, Roy and Effie Jean’s grandson began work at the funeral home. Thomas Corbitt, a licensed funeral director and embalmer, and his wife Katie are currently running the business. 

The Corbitts have been serving Tuskegee and other surrounding communities for 69 years thanks to many families placing their trust in us to take care of their funeral needs. We offer cremation services, monument sales and installation, cemetery work and pre-need funeral arrangements. 

We try our best to be in the office between 9:00 AM and 4:30 PM weekdays with lunch from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, but sometimes we are unable to be there. If you’re planning to come by, please give us a call at 334-727-1810 before you make the trip to make sure we’re there and not out fulfilling other responsibilities.
