Louise Torbert Huskey

Louise Huskey, 93, died February 10, 2018, at Bethany House in Auburn after a brief illness.  Graveside services will be Tuesday, February 13, 2018, at Society Hill Baptist Cemetery at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Rusty Sowell and Rev. Mark Carlock officiating.  She is survived by her son Bill Huskey; one granddaughter April; two great grandchildren Brook and Kaci; and a number of nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents Betty D. and James William Torbert, Jr., her husband George M. Huskey, Jr., her son George M. Huskey, III, and her sister Hattie Torbert Ellison. 

Mrs. Huskey dedicated her life to service to others for more than 60 years through her work for the State of Alabama, her church and EAMC as a Pink Lady.  She was a very proud graduate of Alabama Polytechnic Institute (Auburn University) as the first woman to earn a degree in Civil Engineering.
